Ah yes I remember this thread!
Do you think they would be okay since they’d be only be half CC? I’m really frustrated with Tractor Supply right now. I wish they would have advertised properly, and I’m afraid I will have to cull my little guys and that’s the last thing I want to do (unfortunately, I am a big softie).Somewhere in that thread is information about health and life expectancy, etc. Supposedly it’s all fine but my tinfoil hat is tingling for sure
I have no idea. The hatchery is listed on there-it might be a good idea to go to their website and see if you can find some more info.Do you think they would be okay since they’d be only be half CC? Thank you so so so much for your responseTo me they definitely look like cornishx that carry the NN gene. The NN gene is dominant, if birds have one copy they have the “bow tie” like your bird does, and if they have two copies they have the fully naked neck. So someone has bred the NN gene into their meat bird crosses. That is not good that they were sold as turkens!!
Going through the same thing with TSC “turkens.”Hi! I discussed this on another person’s thread, but I would like to post pictures of my chicks and see what people would say.
I have 2 Turken chicks I purchased from Tractor Supply around 4 weeks ago. They’re absolutely humongous compared to the other chicks. What could this be? Are they meat birds? They are more than double the size of the other chicks, who are the same age. They look a little bit like Cornish crosses to me.
*The chick shown in the picture is being treated for a neck injury, which is why he is confined to a pet carrier at the moment*
