I've noticed my male drake Cayuga is trying to mate with my female deer Runner. I've also noticed all the females are starting to " easy to get" but they're doing all the "wooing". Anyone else noticing this? This is my first go around with ducks.. I have 6 deer runner females, 1 Cayuga Drake and 3 female Cayugas, thanks!

My female Runners are always chasing after their Runner drake my Cayuga and Buffs flirt with him too but the Runners are really something they follow him around head bobbing, Poor guy has to be worn out. lol
I have never heard of Deer Runners.

My deer runner girls are the talk of the playground lol, I feel my drake " ME. Midnight" lol this is my first year with ducks I saved my deer runners at the mark place, my Cayuga ducks came from a wonderful breader. Any idea if these babies will back babies so late in the year? They're about 7-8 months old, all of them. Thank you so much for the feedback ❤️❤️❤️

I have no experience with adult Cayuga drakes, since mines are still not sexually mature... (and are kind of bonded with two other boys)
...but my Indian Runner drakes mate all year round.
Domestic ducks just do.

(You don't need to worry with only one boy!)

Sorry if I am asking a stupid question, but... what do you mean when you write "deer Runner"?
Do you, in fact, refer to their colour (Fawn and White) by "deer"?

When you break the eggs, look at the yolk :
- if there is a tiny white dot on the yolk, then the egg is not fertilized,
- if there is a white circle (kind of like an archery target) on the yolk, then the egg is fertilized.
