Material for fencing run

We are building our first coop and run and are trying to find ways to cut costs. The run will be 12 ft long, 8 ft wide, and 7 ft tall. Would fencing with 2 in by 4 in holes work to fence the upper half and top of the run? We are planning on using 1/4 in hardware cloth for an apron and along the lower 3 or 4 feet. We get snakes, raccoons, and hawks for predators.

I personally wouldn't trust anything that big (the holes) but many have used it for the upper side of the walls.

I used 2 x 4 fencing for solidifying the structure but did hardware cloth over the whole thing with a hardware cloth apron. If you are only going to choose one, go with hardware cloth.
