Mating before laying, is that bad?

I am dreaming of an egg Christmas…

Goodluck! I will say after those few weeks of warmth she stopped laying again until like April lol. But then it was eggs galore!

Careful with the crested duck, if the drake is grabbing her by the crest he can kill her.
I don't expect to see any duck-eggs this year due to the shorter days, but in spring i will have a large sunny-side-up…

Yea she has a really tiny Crest. It just looks like shes having a bad hair day her attitude is quite big though caught her hopping at a chicken like chickens do when they fight. She also has no shame latching onto a chicken and being dragged around! Shes crazy!

Now if I could get her to lay never seen a duck egg and hers are supposed to be blue.
