Mating vs Drowning

I don't really want to give anyone away. It's like trying to decide which kid you like more

But I really don't want more ducks. Four is enough. I will try to flush her eye and see if there is dirt in it. I've been trying to keep their kiddie pool clean so they can play and stay clean but it's hard when the water is freezing up.

My pecking and large male mallard keep mounting my small male mallard and vice versa, why are my males mounting each other and trying to mate? Also it worries me because when they mount the small male he looks like he’s drowning he’s under for so long it makes me super worried but he’s in the middle of the lake and I can’t get to him
