I think you made a good point in an earlier post. With a smaller hen to rooster ratio you see behaviors that a lot of us don't.
I think it is more than hen to rooster ratio alone. It is also about more discrete social groups. The American Dominiques behave in a similar manner when the groups are separated from other groups. The games behave more like average chickens when you have multiple stags that have not yet come into courage yet develop an interest in the girls. The males get forceful because the females are more likely to exercise choice that does not benefit lower ranking males. The stags have very much overlapping home ranges at that time.
