Mating

At what age do ducks generally start mating? I have 11 mallards 1 black swedish (I think) and 2 Pekin. I'm almost sure that I have a male and female pekin I'm basing it off of their quacks. One is a loud distinguished quack the other not so much more raspy. I know they are too young to mate just yet only about 4 weeks old but when should I expect them to start mating? Also I'm sure out of 11 mallards I will have at least one male or female combo (I hope). I'm new to ducks and I've heard that Pekins are hit or miss on hatching their own eggs so I was just wondering.

flying mallards will mate at 4 1/2 months old. Well mine did anyway.

I got Rouens about a year ago and this spring she is already sitting on eggs which is odd considering they have been bred out of sitting on eggs hope this helps even if ya don't have Rouen
