Matted Feathers On my Chick's Head!

When I found my dead chick, I also noticed one with its head feathers matted down with blood. I think it's eye had been pecked. The chick can see, and is very active; eating, drinking, and playing. My real question is: How can I help this one? The chick is about to be 4 weeks old, so can I bathe it's face? Oh, and just FIY, I don't have any special cream for chicks, just neosporin. What do ya'll recommend I do??

You can clean the wound with warm water... maybe a little soap.

But then the chick needs to be kept by itself so it isn't pecked again.

You also need to figure out why the chicks are being pecked.

Is the coop too small?

We recently had a predator attack. I think it threw my babies off. Their brooder is big, plenty of space for them to run around. I will wash it's wound promptly!

just remember if there is any blood or redness the other chickens will try to eat it.

4 months old? Then it’s pretty much an adult not a chick.
Are you sure you don’t mean 4 weeks old?
You should be able to clean the wound.
I’m unsure if neosporin can be used on eyes. I don’t think so.
If the wound isn’t actually on the eye then I’d put some on it.
I agree with Alaskan, the others will keep trying to pick at the injury.
