Not sure what you mean by "not making any noise when she wakes up". Please clarify what this means.DH is worried because she isn't making any noise when she wakes up. Is this normal?![]()
Does she have an injury to her leg? What I mean is she doesn't chirp or cluck or anything. she wakes up every once in a while, which seems to be a good thing, since she tried walking, but after a few steps, she laid back down. I'm sure it hurts for her to walk, poor girl.
not as far as I can tell, though she may or may not have a broken leg. It just looks as though the wound is what's bothering her, since it's so close to her leg.Does she have an injury to her leg?
I figured as much. she's more aware of her surroundings today. She still isn't eating or drinking, but we've been dripping water mixed with vitamins over her beak to keep her hydrated and she seems to be ok with that. she drinks it as we give it to her, so we're not worried about dehydration at this point.Being really still and quiet is not unusual after a traumatic attack. I had a little hen attacked by a hawk who went into shock and was just lying on her side but still breathing. I thought she was not going to make it through the night, but the next day she was sitting up - still not eating or drinking. We carefully dripped water with vitamins along her beak to hydrate her. after a few days she started eating on her own and she finally made a full recovery.
So sorry...Well... she didn't make it... She died while I was at work yesterday...![]()
