Is mauve mottled orpingtons a thing? If so how would I get to that point. I have blue and black mottled orpingtons. There is a lady 4 hours from me that has mauve orpingtons so I’m curious. Thanks

It's possible. If you cross a muauve rooster over mottled hens you will get black and blue roosters and mauve and chocolate hens. Bred together they will produce mostly black, blue, chocolate, and mauve chicks, but also some black mottled, blue mottled, chocolate mottled, and muave mottled.

They sound gorgeous. You wouldn't happen to have pics of the adults, would you? :fl
No I wish. My chicks are just blue and black mottled but it made me wonder if I could make mauve mottled.

This one's mauve, but they list lots of mottled. We definitely need them Stateside!
Lynhall Orpingtons, North Shropshire. What beautiful birds!
A lady in Canada by me has mauve. However from reading the above I’m not sure I want anything sexlinked cause that would be tough.

They can also be made using chocolate and blue mottled. All of the genetic components are there.

Can you explain this one. So if I have blue mottled and chocolate mottled I can make them?
