Max amoxacillan dose?

Hello all! I've got a sick chicken who has finally shown that he cannot fight his illness. He's dizzy today and fatigued. I've used amoxacillan to treat all of our illnesses with success. I was wondering the max dosage of amoxacillan I can provide him with in one day. He's breeding stock and I would absolutely hate to lose him. Anything advice is appreciated! Thank you!

Amoxicillin is usually given 50 mg per pound of weight. You can give it in 2 or 3 divided doses. For example, give 125mg twice a day. The maximum is 300mg daily.

How do you know it is a bacterial infection?

Well I guess it doesn't matter any more; he died overnight. On the other hand, the rest if the flock has a very mucus-sounding cough. Is that them getting too cold, or is it illness?
