karen71 can you try placing a damp sponge, papertowel, or washcloth in your incubator? Thats what I do. Actually I put a papertowel to catch the hatching mess but if I spray it through the ventalation holes a few times a day or add a damp sponge it works great. Also if you already have pips squirt them to wet the membrane fast.

Update: 3 Silkie pips and 6 quail(I think. Its hard to tell because of the color of the eggs), all alive but still no hatches

Had a power outage last night and think it killed them all.. was starting to smell in there so pulled one out to test and nope.. dead.. stared pulling them out one by one and everyone was dead.. a few pipped thru there aircell but none pipped the shell

Update: woke up this morning @ 3:30 or so and looked in the bator to find 2 silkies and 6 quail!!!

. Due to the fact that they kept going underneath the turner and stuff I did a quick egg collection and move to the brooder (I always have staggered hatches so the turner is still on and I didn't want someone to get smushed). One of the silkies is zipping as we speak, another quail hatched, and I still here peeping, although 1 quail egg has a hole in its side that looks like it came from a nail or something and isn't a pip and I cant see movement. Oh and I was wondering whats the difference between Texas A&M Quail and Coturnix Quail?

I hatch just to watch them lol plus I just love splash and blue silkies so I breed them although I havent had a chance yet this year to keep any for myself because everybody wants some

another update on mine.. Bator B suffered the same fate as Bator A.. Everyone that wasn't pipped before the outage is dead..

I got 3 seramas and a silver spangled Hamburg that made it out of that one.. Some are better than none tho

well I ended up with 54 out of 101 thus far not giving up on the others till later tonight, I did check two one was not compleatly developed and the other lookeed like it could not get its head in the right position. this is day two past hatch date. theres a few pics on my page.

downhome give them a couple more days. They are probably late bloomers. I have maybe 1 quail egg left and 2 silkies that still need to pip but I know their alive.
