Yup, get some polish. They're too funny to NOT have a couple of them...
And yes, I think you did know AmazonDoc in real life. I'm really looking forward to my new babies. Although I may be

when DH sees them. He was actually pretty cool about Edie, though. That's what I think I'll name Einstein's new polish girlfriend...

Wow.....sounds like everyone had a really great time!! Sorry that we didn't make it! I was not feeling so good when I got up this morning and I new that if I got wet that my joints(due to me having Lupus and RA) would just get worse. I hope that maybe I can catch the next one. Again, sorry that I missed it!!!! Congrats to all of you and your "babies"!!!!

Amy:)

your DH and my fiance need to get together and have a "my female counterpart is obsessed with chickens and I don't get it" club ;D

Congrates to everyone who placed at the show.

Unfortunatly I did not write down car info so we never knew who was who when we got to the show. We were there to buy but found nothing for us to buy ;( since we are into large fowl only. Next time we will have BYC ts so that you all can find us instead of us trying to find you

.

Speaking of which when is the next show and where? Seems these are very few and far between which is a shame. I wish there was a place that listed the shows for Tn for the whole year but I have found nothing like that at all. I find it starange that there is so little info available and few clubs also. Guess I am used to the way of a big metro city.

There will be the TN Valley show in September, and another Cocke County show in the fall.
There are other shows, also.
I show bantams, so I check the ABA site for shows. But surelt the APA site lists shows as well?

jywel417, I liked the idea of getting them together so they can have a support group for living with chickens, at first. However, I'm afraid they would gang up on us instead and try for an intervention. That would be a real drag

Cybercat, I hate it that you missed us. I saw Jake pass by in his BYC shirt and tracked him down. I had met bodyflight (Dawn) before. And I'm not sure how jywel found us. DH was wearing his BYC shirt under a jacket, and I was wearing mine under a l/s shirt. I think I need a BYC sweatshirt for the damp rainy days!
DH thinks we should make a banner for next time, so it's easier to gather.

Silkiebaby it was definitely a cold wet day. Sorry you couldn't make it, but I knew rain kept a lot of people away.

Yeah, Cybercat and I were bummed we missed you guys! We did go but didnt know the faces. We really do need to get some t-shirts.

I was looking to get some buff orps or EEs or something but we only found bantys, silkies and a couple polish for sale.

Oh well, maybe next time.

The Anderson County Fair is having a poultry show with their fair and I am thinking of entering some of my babies just for the experience, but I am 99% sure it isn't a real APA/ABA show since one of the categories listed as being judged is Black Sex Link. Of course I have a black sex link girl I would like to enter soooo lol

here is the website for general information for the fair:
http://andersoncountyfairtn.com/

and here is a link to the poultry info page:

http://andersoncountyfairtn.com/d.php?iid=35

The other bad thing is that it requires the poultry to stay on display from 9 am until 9 pm, so I need to decide if I really want to do that or not. But, it is info on another show that I will prob check out even if I don't enter anyone.

It's not really "safe" for me to bring any excess stock I have to the show. I gave away a buff orp rooster yesterday but only after talking to someone, then going home to get him, and bringing him back.

Maybe I'll take a chance at the fall show and bring some whites, buffs and any extra project birds I have at the time and be the only one with some good large fowl. But will have to make a quarantine pen for them ALL to be in if they don't sell.

If you want buffs, what kind? I have 2 production type hens I can let go of RIGHT now, but the good quality trio & alt rooster I have (the one that went to the champion wall yesterday) are not yet available for sale... but WILL be probably later this year.

Email me if your interested. I'm 10-15 miles or so from greeneville
