Count me in, just stuck 30 eggs in the bator today!
I have a dozen mixed breed eggs I got from a fellow byc member and 18 eggs that I was given. Mixed breeds include tophats, brahma, olive egger, and creme legbar. Pure breeds are orps (buff, white and lavender), ss hamburgs, ameracaunas, and black copper marans.

Day 7 candle lost 9 eggs. eggtopsy shows 1 quit day5, 1 day 7+. 1 Isabelle clear, 2mixed clear, 1 sizzle scrambled.3 had blood rings no embryo developed enough to find. (1 ayam, 1 isabelle 1 barnyard mix. ) still have 35 going well. And expecting 24 in the mail this week!anyone want to see a 7 day embryo i took a very good pic. So 1st hatch date Mothers day! 2nd hatch date May 23rd!

Ok question! Have my first batch of broody hens in my coop in 3 years. How protective can my roosters get over them? My bantam rooster I have to watch when I get near them but no problem yet. Just curious because I have not removed spurs and my big male has a set of spurs that make me say "Holy Crap!"

Sorry to hear about losing 9 but glad to hear the rest are doing well.

I have a hen sitting on 3 shipped Modern Game Bantam eggs due April 30th but in case those fail to hatch I have two backup eggs in the incubator from my own flock of Easter Eggers due May 13th.

They really do lol but the DH wouldn't be too happy if I set anymore haha. I still have plenty of chicks left to sell and I've been keeping a few chicks from each hatch for myself. By a few I mean like 9 from each batch...

Use reason than. What if only one hatches? Than the other one will be lonely cause it doesn't have a friend. So you should set three. That way if one doesn't hatch you'll have two..........although one of those could suddenly fail to thrive so you'd better set 4. That way you'll have a better chance of 3 making it..........but 2 of those could be roosters so you'd better set 5.................at least.

The fact I now have the resources to incubate 7 dozen + eggs at one time has no meaning, no meaning at all.

That way if one doesn't hatch you'll have two..........although one of those could suddenly fail to thrive so you'd better set 4. That way you'll have a better chance of 3 making it..........but 2 of those could be roosters so you'd better set 5.................at least.

I hope the 35 continue to do well. I have the 24 have safe travels.
