I like to give all eggs until day 7 just to be sure. Then I will pull them if I still can't see anything.

Finally went outside and did chores. My 4 week old chicks are doing good - on the opposite side of the chick pen from the heat plate, not terribly huddled together but pretty close together. Temp was definitely warmer in the chicken coop than outside, so they should be fine. It is cold outside though!! It wouldn't be so bad except we have a pretty good sustaining wind around 10-15 mph from the northwest. That is what is making it cold.
Chilly here, too. Not all that windy, for a change. I am ready for winter to go. Moved my April ducklings to the greenhouse. Tonight I'll move the chickens to their tractor and let them get used to that being home. Soon I'll move the April goslings into the greenhouse. They won't be able to hurt my raised beds.

We were getting sleet here about an hour ago. 😒

Nothing from those last two BCM eggs when I got home, no internal pip either. I opened them up, and both were passed. One had a pool of blood at the air cell membrane and told was not absorbed, so it either pipped through a vessel or I damaged the vessel when I vaccinated them. The other chick was in the beak between feet malposition, the second time I’ve seen this. The first time was in a guinea egg. So, 5/8 BCM and 10/12 OE hatched successfully. I’m frustrated that the BCM seem to have more problems than our other birds, but this is way more successful than our last BCM hatch of shipped eggs, where 0/12 hatched! Naruto is finally properly broody - I knew I should have been collecting eggs!!! I’m trying again with the BCM to put under her, but so far have two normal eggs and one pullet sized (all from the same two year old hen). Question: anyone set pullet sizes eggs from mature hens? Should I skip that one? Also, what’s the max time that you’ll wait to put real eggs under your broody?

Nice! The second and third picture look great! I would put a question mark on the first one that looks clear and check it in a few days bro confirm that it's a clear.
