May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

Pics
Is it bad that I haven't been keeping track of how many eggs I've been putting in from my flock 😂 Let's just say out of 20 eggs I've pulled only 2 clears 😉 the rest have developed little chicklets. Most should be hatching on the 7th and 8th so I'm pulling the turner today.
Nope, it isn't bad (says the enabler). I am about to hatch 50 and started collecting again yesterday... :lau

I also put in this new egg that somebody laid and I think it's my Bantam Brahma because the egg is very small. I will take a picture of it I think it is the cutest thing ever 😂 I have never had issue putting in new egg layer eggs.

The best part about that Bantam brahma is she has been mating with both my Deathlayer roosters and my other bantam brahma rooster So I have no idea who the dad is going to be.

My phone wrote Bantam drama rooster 😂 I guess you can call him that because he does create a lot of drama in the flock when he tries to mate with the older ladies and they get super mad... I always see him running away from them 🤦🏼‍♀️ and they're angry all fluffed up

I collected some eggs I desperately wanted to hatch. They are due to hatch on the 12th. I have been doing weekly hatches for a couple of months. This weeks hatch.

OMG I love the one sleeping in the dish! So cute! (The whole reason I am here is for the baby pics.)😂
It's quite the popular sleeping spot - I imagine it's similar to sleeping in a big egg 😂 I think I have another one of those dishes, I might have to let them play with it.

And don't worry, more pics will be forthcoming! I just need to finish my coffee first and clear some room on my phone's SD card. I have a feeling my remaining 3 eggs are late quitters, but I won't condemn them for another day or two.

Found this idea on Pinterest for splayed leg chicks....wonder if it would work? It looks like it would be a lot easier to do than trying to tape/vet wrap their little legs.View attachment 2117215
The only problem that I have with that is they are not very strong and can be pulled apart very easily where you twist them

You can also fix it by just sticking them in a cup and not even taping their legs. That's how I fixed my quail because taping a quail is quite the task 😂

I bet taping a quail was a task! I have only ever had to fix splay legs on 1 chick and vet wrapping was interesting! LOL! I have read a lot of people putting them in a cup during the Easter and April HAL's and was definitely planning on trying that route on the next one I had to do. I just saw that on pinterest and thought it was interesting. (Would have been a lot easier then vet wrapping! LOL!)
