May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

Pics
My OE hatching eggs were supposed to arrive today. They didn't. :( I found the tracking number and entered it into USPS to find it saying "Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending" with no expected arrival date listed. It should only have that status for no more than 48 hours after the package was dropped off at the post office. Doing research on that status and the length of time it has had that status, it looks like that means the post office has either lost the package, damaged the package, or are sitting on the package. Contacted the seller and let them know what was going on as well as contacting USPS customer support to see if they can help me find the package and figure out what is going on. I am hoping that the seller will work with me on replacements if need be. Saw that the same seller just had a average review posted a couple days ago stating that they never received their eggs and I wonder if the same thing happened there as what I am dealing with - if it problems with USPS more than the seller.
Sounds like the post office has it and waiting for you to pick up

Wonder if the breeder made it so they have to pick it up. I don't get the delivery system 😂 Amazon is being weird lately too. Usually they don't charge you until the item ships, but now they're charging instantly (I like it that way though).

HATCHING DAY!
From 48, 42 made it to lockdown (although 3 have big X on them which means I thought they had died already, but didn't want to chance throwing out a chick-since its my first time)
I have 19 in the brooder, 2 zipping, 9 more pipped.
My little arm bracelets that my kids and I painted with nail polish (in 8 different designs so I could tell who is who, plus male and female) didn't work, because the nail polish cracked right off the straw as soon as I opened it up.
Plus, the straws were way too tiny! Chick have bigger legs than I remember.... So I am so glad I had an extra bag of "big slurp straws" that I bought for when the chicks got older... LOL so made new bracelet cuffs for them as they hatched, and moved over 2 or 3 at a time. All seems to be going well.

I am hoping I am around the half way mark, as I am secretly aiming for 35 chicks... but will be happy with 30..

No, tracking hasn't updated since the day it was labeled "Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending" - the only other tracking info was previous to that that the tracking number was provided. And my post office delivers them to my farm (I told them to as there are not that many more miles in the air conditioned/heated postal car than there would be in my own car...and I trust my mail carrier and the sub to be careful with them - I just can't make a 30 minute drive to town to get packages every time eggs come in.) I am also good friends with the post master and I know that she would call me if they were there at the post office.

Even if they did, I am friends with the post master, the mail carrier, and the sub and they would deliver them to me anyway because I requested that they do so. All 3 of them would handle the eggs with extreme care. The post master also takes the time to call both my cell phone and the land line to make sure to get a hold of me if there is a package that I absolutely have to go pick up.

Hopefully it's just someone forgot to push the button to update the tracking system...of all the shippers USPS seems to be the slowest at tracking (except maybe DHL, but nobody uses them anymore!).

So it's now a few hours to halfway through day 21...and the remaining 3 eggs in the incubator aren't doing anything. What's the official recommendation on how many days to wait on them? Should I check for internal pips once it's dark enough...?

And a few more fluffers just for fun:
