I have a thing for certain colors. I am not a fan of the all white birds for what ever reason. I thought about going with the all black chicken the Acymi it what have you but I found out they have black skin too which just weirded me out.

My daughter picked silkies and Svart Honas (very close relatives of the Ayam Cemani) as her 4-H chickens.....both breeds have black skin. LOL!

I have four Silkie chicks (dinosaur stage)... they're kind of cute in an ugly teenage-chicken way. I hope there's only one boy, but how would I know? I want them to sit eggs and brood babies. Also they're so FLUFFY! (Well, the adults are. Right now they're more like scruffy!)

I am not sure exactly what to think of silkies when they are in that stage. LOL! My daughters first 5 are in that stage now. I can't wait till they get a bit more feathered in and I can start seeing the faint saddle feathers to know exactly what we have.

I had just have barnyard mixes, nothing exciting. Two of my girls went broody together a few weeks ago. Between them they have 14 eggs. I haven’t candled so we’ll see what happens!

My husband says Chubs looks like she got electrocuted I have 8 silkie chicks I think so I was going to sell some because I only want 2 of them. I don’t need a ton of silkies.

Do you have a blue/lavender silkie? My daughter got lucky and got 2 lavender colored silkies and 1 dark blue colored silkie. The lavender ones are an absolutely gorgeous color!
