Hmmmmm, I will check!!! I think what concerns me most is that it’s been over 24 hours since I noticed the long crack.

The 2nd egg I patched had a lot more candle wax on it - I did scrape some of it off with a box knife before I put it in the hatcher as I was concerned that it would pip under the wax.

You cursed me lol... I think they’re broody my husband said they’ve been in the nesting boxes all day.

What breeds aren’t broody? Leghorns?

The black with gold aren’t as feathered yet, but I’ll get pics of them in a few weeks.

I don't know if you remember the silver chicks I hatched earlier this month. I have never had a silver chicken, there are four, but two are putting on pure medium silver wing feathers. (The other two are setting dark feathers and are not as cool). I will take a pic tomorrow. I was supposed to sell the whole lot of them at six weeks, but I think two are going to have to stay.

I have my first external pip! I thought that this one would hatch on Monday, but the last batch hatched a day earlier than I expected. I'm glad if they all hatch before I have to go back to work on Tuesday.
