I am day 19 or 20 - I know you're supposed to count the first day as 0, which would make this 19, but I didn't set my eggs properly and put them straight into a warm incubator after 8 hrs under a broody hen - what do you guys think?
Either way I am playing all the chicken music on YouTube now watching them roll around in their eggs! No chirps yet.

I thought you're supposed to stand them for 24 hours air cell up to let everything settle? I saw a few people post about it since I set mine...

Update for those chicken eggs I pulled from the incubator (the ones stagger hatched between my duck batches).

Thought they were 2 days past hatch date so I pulled them & decided to open starting at the aircell. Got the shell off & the membrane moved! I Vaselined & put all 3 eggs back. Looked at my calendar & ..... I’m a DUMB DUMB! I counted out 18 days not 21! I didn’t even hatch quail this year...why the heck didn’t I count 18 days?!

Anyways it is now day 23 & I have 2 chicks & one egg externally pipped. The 2 that are out seem healthy. They are just BYM. I have one white one & 1 black one with a spot on its head. Now whether that is auto sexable I’m not sure because I don’t even know what breeds they came from. Maran could be possible in the heritage as that particular chick came from a dark olive egg.

There are 8 eggs and they're moving around a bit so I upped the humidity and hope they hatch in a few days

I've moved 6 to the brooder this morning. 5 FBCM (out of 7) and one Aloha. today is day 21, but my experience with Aloha's is that they normally start to pip on day 21 and start hatching on day 22

That is for shipped eggs. If a broody was incubating them, you’d kill them waiting 24 hours.
