May 2022 hatch along

Pics
We had a May Day hatch. Total count 9 healthy Silver Laced Barnevelders and one late assist who didn't make it. We always get attached to that one somehow.

Lockdown for you is today. They should start pipping on Thursday and hatching on Friday if your temperatures are right on target. One might hatch on Thursday, there is always an early bird.
You don't have to set by the hour. You can put them into lockdown by stopping turning them now. You can up your humidity to 55-60%, and then just hover over the incubator for the next 4 days, lol. Expect to get nothing done.. lol. :lau:gig:lau

I'm a little confused, because the incubator stopped turning last night, which should have been day 17. Tonight "should" be day 18 and lockdown. Maybe I didn't restart the countdown clock correctly?

No time to watch the incubator every minute. I'm still building the coop and have to get it moved out of the carport before my camper comes back from the shop later this week!

150 are in the hatcher. in separate trays. I just got home and there might be at least 100 out so far, I'll count them as I take the first group out in the morning. I need to move chicks out of the brooder house to the grow out house so I have room for this days hatch. I'm a little behind as it has been so windy I did not get a chance to replace one of the barns roofs until yesterday and Today I headed to town to get a riding mower and was gone all day, though it has rained all day. 1.3 inches so far.
Sounds like a great hatch! Wish we’d get some rain around here. Haven’t had any in weeks and it’s all dried up.

It's fine that it stopped turning on day 17. It wouldn't hurt anything.

That's what confused me. I thought it would into lockdown on day 18, but it appears that it went into no-rotation mode on day 17. I increased humidity to lockdown levels this morning, so I should be okay.

Now I’m really going to get nothing done!! 5 of my eggs have pipped!! Woohoo! 🎉🥂

I can hardly wait for mine to start pipping. Then I'll be glued to the incubator whether I done with the coop or not!

Hopefully I'm not violating protocol, but I would welcome thoughts from the other May hatchers on the chicken tractor I mentioned above. I posted more photos today.

Chicken Tractor build for 4 hens
I think it looks awesome! How often will you move it? It looks like it might be heavy! That would be my biggest question, how often and easy will it be to move :)

I know, I’ve gotten zero done today! Hahaha I just keep checking the eggs to see if they zipped yet! 😆 More have pipped but still no zips 😫😫
