All my eggs are doing well. Chickens are going into lockdown April 30th. Ducks into lockdown May 3rd

My Bantam Cochin sat on 3 Peahen eggs.

OMG so cute!!!!! I want to hatch ducklings so bad!!! But I don't want to keep them so I can't. LOL I almost had a chance to hatch them for the guy I hatch for but then his duck decided to sit. LOL

my eggs are doing good. I have another (well 2) broody's...... 1 is proven so I am debating on giving her the chicks when they hatch... BUT she will only have been broody for about 2 weeks so not sure.... I am going to hatch more eggs so could get those early... BUT right now I have 5 week olds and 2 week olds in the brooder outside that will be using the chick doors soon, my eggs are due to hatch in 2 weeks so I was trying to figure out what to do with those as it was. so giving them to the broody made more sense. Then setting the new ones a week after these hatch and the others should be fully out of the brooder by then, and my expanded run/new coop should be built by then.

my other broody is the one that had her eggs broken just over a month ago so I am breaking her. she is now in broody jail and hopefully breaks fast since she just went broody yesterday.

I had already planned to get more eggs before she went broody. My seller is sending me some more eggs. Then someone local has BBS ameracauna and F1 olive eggers and well you know my luck with colored eggs so I had to try! LOL so was planning on 30! They were going to come right as these ones hatched again but then I realized I am away when they would hatch so putting it off a week. LOL The broody just gave me a good place to put the few I have in the incubator! LOL

Omg I think one of my buttercups is going broody!!!!! They aren't known to be broody. Lol

I candled one....just one...of my 16 eggs today even though it's only day 5. I saw veins, a dark spot, and I swear I even saw movement!

I just needed that little pick me up. One of the eggs got a harder knock than I wanted while I was turning them and I hope it'll be okay, I feel bad for it. Definitely not enough to cause a crack, but still. It's a maran egg and I don't have a dark room to go into currently so I couldn't check on the one I was worried about, so I grabbed one of my light eggs to give myself a quick dose of dopamine. I'm doing something right!
