Those are HUGE chicks!!!

Then again, I'm hatching OEGB and Cochin banties right now, lol!

Lol well they are bigger than Bantams but they are little. I have tiny hands. The yellow and whitish ones are silkie mixes. The one in the first pic is one of the silkies.

As I thought, they are not even in position. Both are alive but must have been something shaking the table and those two are the only ones that moved? Not sure. Either way, I just saw what my brain wanted to see. Can't wait til these dang chickies hatch

Eggs moving is so weird and cool that even when it is Definitely happening it feels like the mind must be playing tricks!

I should candle tonight but may just put the whole 38 eggs in the hatcher. I gave up on some eggs last month and then found chicks that might have hatched if I had waited. Lesson learned. Thursday night I move them into another incubator setup for hatching only.

Day 20 officially started at 10am. I was away alllll day and it was a very busy weekend so far. No pips or wiggles as far as I can see. I will do a candle tonight and see where I am at.
I’m considering brooding them in coop when they are a bit older if it warms up a bit overnight @junior67. This flock integration I have going on between my two groups has not been smooth! I know the brinsea brooder plate isn’t good under certain temps but may try that plus mamma heating pad. We are still getting negative temps (Celsius) and will until June. Mostly -2c to -3c so far. Most nights have been 0 which is good here lol

I was at my personal parents house for the afternoon and came back to an early hatcher! Gosh I must have had a premeditation because I sure felt anxious to get those eggs into lockdown yesterday!

Lil marans baby. From an egg I hadn’t even seen a pip on, not one of the wrong enders. & gosh now I’m looking side eyed at my duck eggs… they’re only on day 22 but I swear one of the smaller ones was looking kinda shady.

I candled tonight...bc I am an impatient person. I can see veins starting in several of my 15. I didn't really expect to see much, I wanted to see how air cells are settling.

I let set out a few hours prior to placing in the incubator. They sat upright inside the incubator for 24hrs then I started to turn them. Air cells really thus far look soo good. Much much much better than my last set of shipped eggs.

Fingers crossed for this hatch!

My last one was so frustrating. Switching incubators and really struggling with the first one I purchased (now returned) kinda gave me a bad taste. But this Maticoop 30 is doing a great job at all the things!
