Hi there BackyardChickens folks! I have read this forum for years, but this is my first time posting. If anyone can respond tonight, I would be very grateful.

I have a duckling that is half hatched. Never had this happen before. I'm attaching a photo of it's current position. It hasn't changed from this spot in the last hour, but it is still alive and will chirp when touched.

So my questions are:
(1) Should I help it in any way? Is it stuck?
(2) Should it be under it's Mama to stay warm? As it is, it's about 4 inches outside of the nest and is not under it's Mama's feathers. It is pretty warm out tonight (probably around 70 to 80 in the house), but not near the required 95 degrees new ducklings need. Should I move him so he's under his Mama?

Thank you very much! Any help or experience would be grately appreciated! :)

I waited a little longer, but he was no longer trying to move around so I helped him out of the shell. He then started to move and peep away, very strong (if a little sleepy). I put him back with his mom and he looked healthy and happy when I left them. <3
