Hoping it all goes well...

Kat, one year mom called me in TX- she and Dad were in SC - Dad was sick but refused to go to the hospital because SC was having snow and he never trusted anyone to drive in snow. (he was from FL for heaven's sake!)

I called 911 in their town and sent them to the house to get him. He still refused. Sent them back.

I got on a plane in the middle of the night, flew to Columbia, called my sister to come get me at the airport. We went the 50 miles to the house with no problems. I called 911 again, as soon as I saw him, warning them that he would resist. Dragged his doctor out of bed at 3 a.m.

He pitched a purple, pea pickin' fit, but by golly, he went into the hospital. And had a quadruple bypass a few hours later. If he had waited for the snow to melt he would have died.

Next time he gives you any resistance? Pick up the phone and call 911. I know, he knows all they guys, etc. But sneak that phone call in and let them do the professional work. That's what they are trained for.

I do NOT want your next post to be a funeral notice! Am I clear?

I would expect him to put it off as long as possible, but he seemed pretty firm at the dr's office yesterday that he's tired of hurting and wants it out.
He's scheduled for an ultrasound on it next week. They need time for the meds. to work before they can take it out.

Ranchhand, I would call 911 and have in the past (when DH was having one of his heart episodes), but they are required by law to take him to the closest hospital and there's a reason the locals call that hospital "the morgue". I wouldn't take a dying dog there.
The hospital we prefer and the one where our doctor is on staff is about an hour away.

I'm so glad your DH is finally getting that durn thing out! God bless you for nagging/blabbing as necessary. Men can be so boneheaded, sometimes!

that the antibiotics do their job swiftly, before he changes his mind!

stubborn man

At least somethings being done about it now.

I do not look forward to hospital visits or stays, Lord knows... but I'm willing to go if my body tells me so.

Can't say I blame ya then! Glad to hear he has decided to bite the ole bullet, and best wishes!

Sounds like things are looking up!!..I think your dh will be amazed at how much better he feels after it is all over. (I was so relieved not to be "on guard" waiting for another attack).

Glad he is feeling better, and planning on getting that toxic thing out of him. He's really lucky to have you!
