It could be a Standard Cochin.I have seen some of those guys get ginormous.

I can't remember who sent me the eggs but I know they were supposed to be maran eggs. I ended with one feather legged something and assumed one of my cochins got mixed in with the marans. Well, he's not shaped right to be a cochin. I'll try to remember to take a picture of him tomorrow.

Here's one from Bishop's Chickens. Supposed to be a Blue Maran

I'll take a picture of mine and post it tomorrow. My chick looked like a cochin but now he doesn't and I can't remember who I got them from to ask what other breeds they have. Maybe they mixed a surprise in. Picture tomorrow or Monday - Rodeo Tomorrow.

I am not sure what maran's are supposed to look like but I did hatch one. it has little feathers on the legs

Hubby named this one "Raven" it is 2-3xs the size off the other chicks. its HUGE

I have 3 little baby chicks. I think thats going to be it. There are 3 more eggs in there but I think they quit.

My eggs from taboe I didn't get anything. Almost one but it was early and it pipped upside down and drowned or shrink wrapped not sure which. They weren't in lockdown yet and it was still in the incubator. Most didn't develop but shipping was rough.

The 3 chicks are from whiskey bay. All from the lemon blue? I think showgirl pen. I know they are all silkies cause they have the extra toe. 2 are showgirls and one has a feathered neck. I haven't ever had showgirls and don't know to much about silkie genetics. I assume that the showgirl trait doesn't always present itself? A lot of these eggs didn't develop either but once again shipping was very rough and I had an incubator malfunction (the cat unplugged it) The temp only dropped to 84 because it was hot as heck here but I don't know how long it was like that. I kept going though because I have had temps drop to the 60's during the winter and still had hatches.

There was one showgirl that almost hatched but it pipped upside down as well and I am fairly certain it drowned. I tried to save it as soon as I saw it was pipped I turned it over but it was to late.

I do know the shipping did the most damage because I set 4 of my eggs that I found in a nest in the yard the same day and got 100% development and hatch from them. I am so happy I have never had a 100% hatch with my chicken eggs the only other one I had was with bargains shipped goose eggs.
