May Egg Swap Eggs are arriving!!!!

I got my box today Unfortunately the box was a mess. It arrived in Jacksonville in a big plastic bag. They put another sticker on it saying it arrived at their PO that way. By the time it arrived here today the smell was horrific. My Mailgal was so upset when she saw the condition it arrived in. But she was glad to get the smell out of her truck. I opened it and there are 4 eggs that are not broken. I candled them but did not see an aircell, don't know if its worthwhile trying to hatch them or not. What are they supposed to look like as this is my first time getting eggs in the mail. Thanks Micki

Micki,

One black polish egg has a hairline crack. I have it resting too, I have put was on an egg before and had it hatch...I am thinking about doing that.

I know what you mean...I end up letting the eating eggs (mixed breeds but still fertile) sit on the counter for a couple of days before I wash them to put them in the fridge.

I hope your eggs arrive safe and sound and that you get a great hatch.

Thanks again for the beautiful box!

Karen Thank you it is not necessary but if you want of course I will take them. According to the letter attached it happened somewhere before it got to Jacksonville. It arrived there on the 22 and I got them on the 23 so time wise it was good. Sometimes I think they do it on purpose when you put fragile on a box. When I shipped mine out I had written that on the box and our Postmaster remarked about it. Luckily when you are in a small town they tend to treat things alittle differently. At least here they do. Our town has a saying remember you are going to run into that same person all the time so treat them like you would want them to treat you. It was one of the attitudes that DH liked when we were looking for land.
