I haven't thrown any of them out yet for the same reason. I'd hate to find that I tossed a developing chick! I figured I check again in a few days and make a decision then.

Today is day 13 for me and I candled for the second time. Turns out the one I thought had a blood ring and was dead, was NOT dead and is developing nicely!!!!

You asked the same question I asked about a month ago..LOL...and Thank God Sav the fav was there for me. It is when you take the eggs out of the turner, lay them flat and DO NOT opent he incubator at all, you also increase the humidity before hand. read the first page to this thread and you will see all the links through hatching from Save the Fav. Good luck.

okay im ....in just put 36 sexlinks eggs i bought from auction in incubator last night and 1 goose egg set on friday never done this before hope everything goes well

On day 11 of chicks and day 3 of ducks, well i started with 24 bbs rocks and 21 show really good veining and the other 3 have veins but not as defined as the others, and i also had 26 bbs mix of rocks and orps: 3 were broke, 1 blew up on day 6, can see veins on 15 for sure and 1 is clear, the other 4 i'm having a hard time deciding so i'll leave in for now, will check the pekin duck eggs on the 11th.
I'm loving my small cabinet bator i built so far lol first hatch in it.

jlgoinggreen, anything new with you - did you get your temp/humidity sorted out? So far, so good with mine. These last couple of days before hatch day are sooooooo long! Just watchin' the bator . . .

and waiting for Thursday to get here.

grundail01 I would love to see some pics of your incubator too as I am planning to build a small cabinet incubator this summer. I want one the size/style of the styrofoam incubators (like the LG), just made of wood instead.

Nope and believe me I'm staring just like you. It's so hard to sit on my hands. Now I understand all the warnings of not opening the bator. Sooooo hard not to. I wanted to candle last night just to make sure everything was alright. *sigh* I keep reading where some have pips early and I was hoping. I'm on day 2 of lockdown. I'm hoping

to get something soon.

I woke up this morning to find the humidity at 69%, I'm hoping it will stay like that. Then again the humidity always drops at night so we'll see. I checked the weather and the humidity is supposed to be at 75% outside today. Can anyone tell me what that would mean for the bator? I have a book, but it is soooo confusing!

How about you? Anything new?

Nothing happening yet and that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned! If my eggs don't start pipping until tomorrow or Thursday, that means I've kept my temp and humidity in the right zone. This is my 4th hatch this year and I haven't done very well with any of the previous ones and all started early. I bought a better thermometer and hygrometer (ones especially for incubating) to use for this hatch as I think/hope that is what my problem has been. I have my fingers crossed that this hatch will go much better.

My Advice To Anyone... DO NOT OPEN THE BATOR DURING LOCKDOWN OR HATCHING... I did a hatch in Feb. only hatched 18 out 36 eggs, March hatch 19 out of 42 eggs, both hatches I opened the bator to get chicks out... well I figured out thats why soooo many of the others didnt hatch! Now Aprils Hatch was awesome 39 out of 40 hatched.... it was soooooooo cool and yes I wanted to open the bator so bad, but I knew if I did I would kill them! I did open it up after day 2 of hatching, I did have to help 4 chicks out of their shell or they would have died. (also I didnt candle as much in my April hatch, think that helped too.)

Good Luck Everyone
