May hatch-a-long

Pics
So.... tiny the sebright hatchling past away today. I never saw any pecking but as a precaution if i get any sebrights out of the next hatch they will be seperated. It was gasping for air so possibly squished by the bigher chicks but also looked like it was having seizures so we suspect something neurological was going on. So I cleaned out the brooder just in case clean food and water too. I'm not sure of the blood line but the hens where from a breeder. If we hatch any males we plan to cull them and order eggs later to mix the bloodline.

Also i have a hen (not sure which one) that laid a lash egg today. So unfortunately possibly going to loss another hen in the next few months. Hoping the feed store chicks move to the big coop son so i can try to seperate a few of the hens to find out who is having the issue. Just the added stresses of chicken owning

So sorry For your loss

so im hoping to wake up to one or two pips tomorrow i might try putting chirping sounds next to the incubator will this hurt and rush the hatching process thanks
I don't think it would hurt as I'm sure a mama would start talking to her chicks more at this piont as well as the sounds from other chickens. We played hen sounds (more of the egg song style) for our eggs that where zipping and mostly zipped and it deffinatly helps get them more excited and moving

Thanks yes the last two hatch’s it seems that when a chick is drying in the bator chirping away the ones in the egg want to get out more then ever

:goodpost: My first real clue that my eggs were hatching under my broody was that she went from being completely quiet all the time to making lots of low clucking sounds. Momma hen the cheerleader! :D
