May hatch-a-long

Pics
Hi I am an elementary school teacher. I’m new here but I have a question about my day 22 hatching chicken eggs. Disclaimer I don’t know what breed they are but there were blue/green eggs and light brown eggs. I am using a mini Brinsea incubator. I had 6 fertile eggs and five have hatched. Two hatched yesterday (one the night before) and then three more last night. I opened the incubator and took the chickens out after doing my best to make sure there wasn’t any external pipping on the last egg. After candling the last blue/green egg I realized that the air sac had grown and I could see a chick’s body inside where I hadn’t been able to tell before. I put more water in one side of the water chamber and put the egg back in. I am so worried that by opening the incubator I might have killed the chick or I might have put in too much water. I probablyhad the lid open for about 2 minutes.
Any advice? My elevation is above 4,000feet with a fairly dry climate, except it isspring.
If their is no external pip I would do a water test.

ok so there is not a pip after all it was just some chick fur and i did the water test and all it did was go with the was around the bowl it did not wobble and then i candled and i can see the chick but no movement should i leave it over night or will it blow up on me

It won't likely blow up if its fully developed but recently died. But the call is yours. If you want to be sure you could do a safety hole and start breaking away the shell around the air cell until you can see the chick (follow assisted hatch guidelines) once toy can see the chick you can observe better for signs of life and decided what to do from there

thanks i think i might do a safety hole today and if its not out but tomorrow then i will chip away the shell or will that be too late

So i just realized a little bit again my bator got unpluged... lucky me. I have no idea how long it was unplugged (possibly up to 12 hours) but i do believe it was after candling last night not during. Anyways the eggs where cool (not cold but not warm) and the initail inside temp was 82 when i plugged the bator back in. The turner was still plugged in so they where likely getting some heat from that but not much. So here's to praying that at least some of them make it...

Its hard to say. It could already be to late. Like mine last hatch that was internal pipped but died over night. But like i said it's your call. If you are worried and finding no signs of life read over the assisted hatch info and probably go in at least far enough to see the chick. Even a small hole might be enought to see if it has an internal pip or is still breathing. I would say stop at any piont you see signs of life and give it another 6-12 hours to progress on its own

Thanks I was just reading over the article and I’m gonna try and put a safety hole and find the chicks

At this point no movement. No sounds coming from the egg....
