May Hatch-a-Long!

Is there any chance of some weird genetic combining? I mean that since they're all healthy, could it be that the combination/s produced by the roo and hens create a problem? I'd not usually go to that thought but you had said that someone else also had troubles with their hatch of the same eggs.
I sure hope you're able to figure out and resolve whatever is going on.

I'm not sure. I'm thinking the same way you are the hens and roosters I hatched myself. I was really wanting chicks from the blue and green eggs. The hens are from olive egger hens and white leghorn rooster. They are solid white with pea comb and muffs. And the all lay blue or green eggs. I will try again after this because I really want chicks from them. The brown eggs are ok just blue and green aren't developing. I do have 2 blue ones left so hope they make it.

I hope those 2 make it also!
I've never heard of a white bird laying colored eggs!
If it were me, I'd go to the genetics section and start there.

Just to clarify what color/s are the hens and what color is/are the roo/s?

The hens are solid white and they lay blue and green eggs. And one rooster is a white leghorn and the other one is a mix breed. He is red with sliver tail feathers. He hatched from a blue egg. The hens hatched from green eggs. I will post pic this afternoon.

More News from the "yeye5-coop"!
I was feeding this morning and thought I heard peeping in the nest (Zuza, tiny silkie and Story, Really Large Buff Orpington).
I nudged their butts over and found 3 already hatched and already dry and fluffy chicks!
WooHoo!!!
I was--right then--bringing a new nest box to move them and chicks into after the majority had hatched. Apparently I showed up late!
I'm so tickled about this!!!
The hatch that had been due this past Wednesday(7 p.m.) was early starting. The hatch that was due this past Friday (11 a.m.) was late.
This hatch (which completes 21 days at 2 p.m. today) has obviously started early as well.
I've never had chicks hatch during the night. I don't know if that's normal/usual or if it is strange.
I'd love to hear from others who may know...Has anyone had chicks hatch in the dark hours between dusk and dawn?
I usually close my coops right at dusk or sunset (while there's still enough natural light to see normal things). If I expect a hatch, I bring a flaslight just in case. I usually open my cop approx an hour after daybreak.
This is really amazing!
The 3 that have hatched all look to be silkies.
(I give each broody or pair of broodies, a combination of eggs from all of my--3--coops so that every egg-layer has the chance to have their eggs hatch.)
There is one egg from a polish couple, a couple more silkie eggs and a couple of standard size eggs laid in that coop. There are 7 in total.
I gave that nest mostly silkie eggs bcs it seemed that Zuza (silkie) was going broody first.
Then Story joined her.
I did give them 2 hens worth of eggs but due to one thing or another they pushed out several eggs. I have to trust their judgement.
So far, so good!
I will have to step out for a couple of hours but will make it quick!
Pics (and too many of them, lol) will follow!
Great Morning everyone!
I hope everyone here is having such a great start to their days!!!
