May hatch along :)

A whole 20 hours after the first hatch my lone chick finally has a friend.
The one with the big hole that I'm worried that's stuck in is still in its shell but breathing.

So far 5 have hatched and there's one more unzipping in the incubator! Idk about the other three eggs today is day 22. I'm going to keep them in the bator until day 26 and then discard them. (I don't do eggtopsies, too sad)

Lots of cute chicks here. I have 12 rainbow eggs that should hatch on the 26th. This is my first time hatching eggs. Good luck on all your hatches.
Oh that's very exciting for you!!!! Great time to hatch with lots of cool eggs for sale all over! Good luck with your hatch...Just remember to sit on your hands!

Hubby bought me a brinsea for my birthday, it arrived today. I have set a dozen BLRW. That I drove an hour and a half to collect. This is my very first time hatching eggs. I really hope that I don't mess it up.
Yay! What a good hubby! Good Luck!!! :)

Incubator was not too good. Only 5 and they were all the mixed breed chicks.
So sorry!

Omg! I hear cheeping!!! I went to do one last check before bed and right before I walked away there it was faint cheeping.
I'm so excited
Did your last one that was pipped end up getting out!?!

^ Any time then, how exciting!

When I woke up this morning (got up at 5 because I just couldn't wait to check) I had two drying Hedemora staring back at me

The more the merrier!!! Welcome!!

I'm on day 19!!!! I need to check the temp again! I know they are in lockdown, but should I take the egg cartons out that I have the eggs in so that they can hatch on the wire? Also...I got a turkey egg from my neighbor but the hen had already been sitting on it so I had to put it in the incubator...will the chickens hatching hurt the turkey egg?

The eggs should be on their sides and able to move freely (they sometimes rock a lot!)

Do you know how far along the turkey egg is? Sometimes the difference in humidity will ill effect eggs not yet ready for it. Humidity will increase when the chicks begin to hatch and dry.

4 chicks in total so far. One more starting to pip.

I decided that they should be free (I was too anxious to wait too long) and as I was adding water for lock down, and starting to remove them from the egg tray I noticed one was already pipped!!!!

The temp was a little low, and the humidity, so I adjust both, and they are both sitting good now. The pipped egg is cheeping and rocking away!! I'm so excited!!!!!

The turkey egg is approximately 17 days...the person I got it from said "I know it's fertile, she's been sitting on it for a few weeks, but then she laid another (which I have but she hasn't sat on so that will go in the bator with fingers crosses as soon as these guys hatch) but the air cell is detached, and if she had already been sitting on it I didn't have much choice but to add it in and hope for the best. I'm going to put the other in with some banty tutor eggs that I'm getting from the same person once these guys hatch! Hopefully she'll have a couple more turkey eggs for me too. Squee!!!! I've shown the kids! They are so excited! Can't wait to see what we get.
