May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

Wow 45?! That is crazy awesome  !!  You are going to have a great hatch I'm guessing...:D .

Doesn't assisting look scary?  I have done intervened for only two eggs and I was a nervouse wreck by the end.  Maybe it gets easier with more experience...but I'm sure you won't have to do any of that stuff.

Here is another article that I really liked about dry hatching.  It made me feel a lot better about not keeping the humidity perfect at all times.  https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/incubation-cheat-sheet  I love how many great articles have been written by people who have so much hatching experience.  And some of them if emailed are said to even respond and walk you through assisted hatches, which is so kind hearted of them!

Thanks for this info.. Who knew I was doing it right! I decided to do the dry hatch because my other hatches were not that great. My hardest part was second guessing! Turning up my temp when it dropped after putting the eggs in was one of my bads....I didn't this time but my temps didn't fluctuate that much so i left it . So glad I did. What I did this time too was candle more... :)

Good plan.. Good luck..

I have 8 babies now, 13 more eggs to go.. 3 pips.. come on chickies....

That incubation cheat sheet is what really helped my second hatch, i have chicks hatching now.. big difference..from my first hatch. i never added water at all during the 18 day.. i just kept my humidity between 20-30.. worked great for my area.. .. during lock down i kept humidity 67-85.. that was my ranges.. and its working.. hope this helps some of the newbies.. i know it really helped me reading how everyone was doing it..

Good luck fairtuck.. great looking eggs.. so pretty..

Mine were due this weekend. I say "were" because now I don't think I'll have any. My house flooded, so the incubator got moved to my upstairs bedroom. My parents room flooded so I let them have my bedroom and I'm bunking in my daughters room. Apparently they bumped the incubator or let the cat in to bump it, and unplugged the light

the eggs were at 77 degrees when I found them. So I plugged it back in, but now don't see any movement in my eggs
