Just an idea but would anyone be interested in a 4th of July hatch a long?

Why Not..........................
I currently have an incubator, hatcher and brooder in the dining room.
a brooder in a utility room, one in the basement, one in the garage..........
Two empty bedrooms to go...yup, think I will have room in July.................

Needing advice...

What I THOUGHT was 6-7 eggs under my broody bantam OEGB, actually turned into 10-11. She seems to be having a difficult time keeping them all under her, and seems flustered while trying to turn them all and get them all back underneath her. Should I move some to the Brinsea I've already got going to make it a little easier on her??

I've got Lav/Split Ameraucana eggs in the bator now, started on Monday - the broody started setting last Wed night/early Thurs morning, so her clutch is about 4 days ahead of the eggs already in the bator, time-wise. That would give me maybe a day or two between hatching/drying/moving the bantam hatchlings before putting the Ameraucanas on lockdown after their final candling.

Thoughts??
HI,
I would take some of the eggs. .Having to many is making her work to hard and if she cannot keep them warm she may not get a hatch.
Sounds like other hens are laying in her nest. I mark the eggs so I can easily tell which are the new ones.
Aren't those broodies sweet.

*Update*

Just candled my duck's eggs. 7 out of the 8 are for sure alive, and the 8th I can't tell. They are almost 3 weeks in, just one week to go

Ugh, every time I candle them, there is at least one extra egg under her from one of my chickens.

Hatching shipped eggs are so hard unless you have a good cabinet incubator. I have had terrible results!

Yea and these were under some unneeded stress as well. It clearly said on the box to keep them at the p.o. And call for pick up and they sent them out anyway only to have them ride back to the p.o. And me pick them up there!!! I was very mad to say the least!

So today is day 14, I brought the incubator into the darkest room in my house (bedroom) and found that only 6 are for sure alive and then 4 look like they have developed? But the shells are so thick and dark I can't tell 100%! So I have 10 eggs sitting in the incubator out of 16 Cochin/Cochin mixes and 3 barnyard mixes. The 6 that are moving and developing as they should are all 6 Cochin eggs so I can't complain. :) I was hoping one of my green eggs would hatch but just can't see in them enough but did see some very visible veining in one so they both have stayed in.

For some reason always seems to go this way for me too. Not the flux just the stress relief/build up. When I should freak I don't and when I should be laid back I am high strung and wired.  Its worth it though, to me at least I will make anything work for me. Just have more work to do if it gets complicated and another reason to HATCH some more chicks.
. Yep me to
