May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

Dolfi, have you tried float testing? https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...ng-egg-viability-for-late-or-overdue-hatching
I have never done it, but others have had good success. If you have questionable results on some, I would candle them and look for movement. If no movement you can wait another day and try again, or you can open the egg...again I have not done this myself, but I have read up on it just in case:/ Poke a hole in the air cell, and look to see if there is internal pipping (the beak has broken through the interior membrane into the air cell). Whether yes or no, look to see if there is any movement. If yes, cover the hole with a damp paper towel and return to the incubator. If none, or limp and floppy, the chick is dead.
This is all coming from a newbie, just repeating what I have read elsewhere, so hopefully others will chime in. Good luck!

Day 21 of my first hatch and I have 2 pips!!! Yeah!!! Three more haven't done anything yet. One of my pippers has its beak out the hole, the other is just a dimple in the shell. So here is my question;
The one with the beak out has a very saddled air cell. How can I tell if it needs help?
How can you tell if a chick is shrink-wrapped, etc. and needs help? Is there any way to tell without opening the incubator?
if his beak is out he has already overcome the air cell issue

2 pipped today, a day early. One I am worried about, it has pipped at the bottom not into his air cell. However I can clearly see its able to breathe as its beak is sometimes visible coming out of the hole, or at least appears to be its beak. I'm not even going to attempt to open the bator to get a better look but wanted to attach a picture and see what you all thought. Leave it or turn it very quickly?
It has been pipped at least 6hours and has made little to no progress but is peeping some and I can see it breathing.

. I'm sorry nohasmom but I can't make it out but if he broke out at the bottom that means one of two things the first is he is a big chick and fills the whole egg and can not turn to pip on top and second there is little to no liquid left in the egg because of improper humidity ,, now the latter being a good thing because he did not drown and was able to break out for air I would keep a close eye on it because if he is to big he may have issues zipping but at this stage let him be if he has outside air he can most likely make it out on his own good luck you two have fun
