May Online Hatching Egg Swap-Eggs should be sent

So far I've got one baby from the Quail eggs. So cute! (Camera on my phone is not very good )

I'm thinking a red or Cinnamon. Two ended up Hatching, they are in a brooder with the Buttons. I'll get a better pic with DH's phone. His Droid has a better camera. Mine is only a Cosmos.

I think u might be right cause I have a red tux female so maybe red or rosetta. Those look pretty red to me. I feel bad more didnt hatch, One of the other people I sent eggs to hatched a Manchurian Gold chick and sd of the other eggs 4 r piped but that was hours ago so she may have more hatched by now. Your eggs were the exact same age. I have a certain way I store them so I know exactly what day they were laid so I just took the eggs starting from the oldest and divided them one by one til I was out of eggs. Everyone had the same amount and all had the same chance. I packed them all the same and sent all 3 boxes out the same day. Pretty babies tho. The reds r my favorite color in cots. BTW they take 18 days which is 2 days longer then button eggs so the other might still hatch and somtimes I have a couple pop out a day late and some always hatch early at 16 days. I have had them hatch as early as 15 days and as late as 20 tho on a few occassions.

I won't be pulling them out for a few days. I plan on waiting until I need to clean it for the next hatch.

I got several that look like that. They're so cute. They got the yellow on their face and the rest of their body is like a brownish color. I never seen any this color, I mostly hatch JB's and BW. So when these hatched it was a shock. Is it easy to tell the sex when they get older?

the ones i had like that turned out to be british range, and were not sexable by color. i had to wait for eggs or crowing. and all my range had bad attitudes. the roos were super agressive to the hens (one hen was scalped by a range roo). they went to the freezer. but that could have been the line they're from and not color specific. from that breeder, the whites were small and not hardy either. i ended up with golden and brown. crossing fingers for another golden roo to hatch today or tomorrow... but i won't know sex for a few weeks. lost my roo last week. contemplating getting some jumbo browns to add to the mix now, but we'll see what hatches first.

on the flip side, i had 5/6 cochins hatch yesterday. the other looks like it quit before lockdown. so that puts me at 5 from my mille/partridge pen and 3 from my black/self blue pen.

If their not sexable till they lay an egg or crow they'll go to freezer camp then. I don't want to have to keep something around very long. I'm mainly wanting JB roos to separte my girls out with anyway. All left overs will go to the freezer.

i've had them pip up to 24 hours before zipping... that's not unusual, as long as your humidity is up so they don't dry out.
