Awesome Im packing sunday night and shipping monday morning. LOTS of fresh extras!!! Most my birds r laying like crazy right now for some reason. Had a couple test hatches due the last few days and fertility was great, even better then expected hatch rates. Thanks Jim. I know you are really busy this time of year with work.

Wow, my wife has been selling our eggs as eating eggs and I haven't saved any yet, so depending on what breeds I'm sposed to send out, it may be a week before my eggs will be sent out...just an fyi for those who will be getting eggs from me!

personally, i want to know what it is, and because of the shop being closed some fridays and every saturday, saturday shipping works best for me usually...

a swap i got from john farmer (from crazy egg chain) hatched yesterday. all i can say is WOW! 12 barred rocks, 8 hatched and 2 more are pipped but i'm not holding my breath. that's 75% hatch on shipped eggs... and 2 were clear so that's more like 80% if you don't count the clears.

my oegb hen went broody a bit over a week ago, so i gave her 5 hatching eggs due yesterday, but the dog snagged one

and 3 had hatched when i got home yesterday but one had gotten mixed in the shavings, one wedged thru the milk crate, and the newest was still under her, with 1 pipped egg... so all chicks/egg went straight inside to the incubator (the 2 were very cold). the cold ones perked up, the egg hatched. i brought her inside to the brooder (nest and all) with a few dud eggs and gave her 2 pipped barred rock eggs, and once one hatched i put the rest of the chicks under her 1 or 2 at a time. thank god she's so mellow. she's now got 8 barred rocks (LF) a bantam cochin (hoping silver laced) a barred cochin/oegb cross, a pure oegb and oegb/bantam rir cross. the 3 oegb chicks are from my crele roo. as of this morning she'd moved all the chicks out of the nest. think it was too crowded. gonna be funny in a few weeks when those rock babies are going to be bigger than she is.
