Got my eggs today! Thanks for the extras! One was broken and one was cracked but still have 7. Yeah!! They are resting right now.

Hey I was wondering how long everyone lets the eggs rest? I had been letting them rest 12 hours but thought I saw on here a couple days. Thanks for the advice.

Mine rest at least 24 hours but usually 48 hours. Then when I put them in the incubator, depending on air cells, the may not get turned for a week.

Jim,

I still owe eggs to sadar. Sadar if you are reading this I am really sorry I am late. I had two girls go broody and I am running further than I expected. I could ship your eggs on Thursday or if you want me to wait until Monday I will have plenty of extras for you. Sorry about that.
I read this post last night and spoke to Darcy(Sadar) today. She is a close friend and lives close by. We usally talk daily but she lives in the sticks and her phone and internet has been down. She just got it fixed about an hour ago and called me. She read your post but now her laptop keyboard is messed up and certian keys wont respond includeing the space bar. She asked me to reply to your post for her until she gets it repaired. She sd to tell u she doesnt mind that the eggs r late and thats ok. Thank u for letting her know and she understands things happen. She also sd she would preffer that u wait and mail them Monday so they r not held over at the PO. Thanks

Whoa...I just got my bator...what is this 'resting' thing we are suppose to be doing with the eggs?? And, I thought the eggs had to be turned 3x a day from day 1...Is that wrong??

When your eggs come in from being shipped. It is good for them if you let them rest at least 24 hours before placing them in the incubator. I never turn mine the first day no matter if they are shipped or not. What I do depends on different things. I have turners in most of my incubators. I have one I hand turn if I use it. It has only been used for hatching this year since we have the big bator.
Some people hand turn 2x a day, some 3x a day.

Thank you so much for talking with her for me. I am so sorry I couldn't get them out in time. I will be sure to send her plenty of extras. They have really picked up now and I am getting 3 to 4 eggs a day again.

Good!
I haven't gotten a single turkey egg since I sent your eggs out.

I sent a message to GAHillbillies, but haven't heard anything yet. If I have to, I will buy eggs from someone and have them sent to her, or I can send her Orpington or d'Uccle eggs, if she would prefer that.
