Tomorrow we plan on modifying our shed into a coop.
Hopefully shouldn't take too much work. (ha ha)

My question is, my chicks are 2 weeks old today.
If I move them out to the coop this week, (we are going to make a brooder area) Do I still have to worry about them drowning in a larger waterer at this age?

Thanks!

yes, you do.. by larger do you mean a pan, or a dish , or a regular chicken type waterer.. You can buy the type of waterer that you can screw a canning jar onto.. we use 2 quart jars for larger number of chicks/turkeys etc.. those cost about a buck or so.. some are plastic and some are galvanized steel. I like the plastic ones..

that should be OK>> but watch out if the chicks are too cowded..
they could get pushed into the water and not be able to get out..

make sure the heat lamp is not right next to the water.. make them walk to the water from where they bed down..
