Hi, I'm not only new to this forum, but to raising chickens. We have two buff orpingtons, two light brahmas, two black austrolorps, one barred rock, and one americana. They're 9 & 10 wks old. The barred rock and americana were suppose to go to one of our neighbors, but it turns out we're keeping both. We're thinking the barred rock is a rooster. And we're wondering if he's decided that the americana is his woman. He keeps pecking at her, mainly around her neck. He hasn't drawn blood or anything, he just freaks her out and sends her running across the yard. He's the only one doing this. So is this something to worry about, or is he just practicing?
