What do you do if one of the 2 hens keeps eating eggs? She's down to only 2 eggs in the nest but that was the original number... I pulled her out and put her in another nest to lay her egg and blocked Chicaletta in with a stool. Ughhh life on the farm is a struggle.

Im starting to feel like Chicaletta is a watched pot thats never gonna boil... Lol. I caught her out this morning while she was getting a drink so i ran to see how the eggs were doing and they are still just eggs... Ugh. Its lime waiting on a pregnant lady. I super hope she hasn't been sitting on duds this whole time.

No because shes rarely off long enough for me to even think to do it and i wo t take her off

Best way is to go out at night, well after dark, and take an egg from under her to candle. Do the candling right in the coop, but don't shine light on her much if at all.

I get home from work about 10 pm and check on them but is a cell phone light bright enough to see anything? And i dont know what to look for anyways...

She stands little chance of hatching eggs on that egg mat. A deeper bedding, perhaps some hay or straw will help to retain the body heat.
