I have 20 hens and one Roo my oldest son (12) has the interest of incubating a few. My mom ordered him a small incubator off amazon for Christmas it only does 7 eggs which I figured was plenty for a starter of his age, sooo my big question is how do we tell the eggs he picks are actually fertile and what advice and tips would you all give to him.

Which incubator was it? The brinsea mini? That will make a big difference in advice. As far as the eggs being fertile, you can crack a few open and check for a bullseye vs a white dot. Start checking fertility ahead of time to give you an idea of what you're getting.
