I have five ducklings. There about 2 months old. About 2 weeks ago we started letting them live in the chicken coop with the chickens. They go out to free range everyday. One day i went to go let them out and I noticed one was just sitting there. I went to go check on it saw that it could not walk on one leg and that it did not move. I checked for Bumblefoot but the leg was not hot and it had no symptoms. i checked in it about five times each day. for about a week. about a week later it was finally able to hop around (yay some improvement). I started doing swim therapy for it (will this help) now it is about two weeks later and he is moving around a lot but he is not leaving the coop with the other ducks. (what should i do?)
is anyone else having problems with getting your ducks to go in at night. we have an automatic door that closes at sunset. every night i go make sure they are in there. whenever i go out they are always just sitting by the big coop door. They know how to get on the automatic door but why wont they use it to go in at night?

To me ducks are a lot like kids. As long as there is any day light they want to stay outside and play. Is the coop door elevated at all ? Maybe the duckling is reluctant to jump our with its bum leg? Just for the heck of it you might try giving it some Niacin .
