Help we haven't seen mites on our birds however tonight when we went out in one of our roosting boxes there were little black bugs crawling everywhere. I usually seen them during the day after a rain but tonight I seen some on our birds. What can I use to treat to kill them on the birds within 24 hrs?
Read about Ivermectin but not sure what kind to get.

Thanks

pour on ivermectin for mites lice and etc. Use permectrin spray to treat the coop. You will need to re treat in 7 to 10 days since only the live bugs are killed. The second treatment is to kill bugs that hatch.

Look up dosage based on size but it is usually 1 to three drops on skin per bird--by the vent and under the wing.

a review:
This review is for Durvet Ivermectin Ermectin Pour on for Cattle

We have been using both the injected 1% for cattle and this 5% pour on for years to treat dogs, chickens and cats. I have noticed many people showing concern in regards to dosage but ivermectin is one of those medications where one can be off and the animal will still be safe. I know this because we had a a Catahoula mix cattle dog who had a severe reaction to a rabies shot which prompted his immune system to turn on itself. Ivermectin was the savior, but it was a journey and large dosage had to be used.
