MBTI Personality Test, Anyone?

I tried to take an IQ test the other night and had to quit halfway through. No, I don't see the pattern in 1-56-312-87-4-198234-5-2, but I guess there are people who can? I also thought I had a decent vocabulary, but again, nope! I'm an ooga-booga type of gal, and that's fine by me.
I’m “normal”. - just a regular old gal, here. My husband is, too. Our kids are alien to us :lau They got the brilliance genes that skipped us!

Those things practically give me ulcers. I think I scored a 90 something on one and my mother was devastated, like actually concerned about wether I was an R word🤣
Have you tried the mensa test?

I read through all the strengths and weaknesses, and have to say I know myself very well, as they're all pretty accurate.

I don't disagree with the common tendency to conflate the testing methodology with the actual Jungian system behind it. That's exactly my point, though. None of these online tests can successfully eliminate the inherent bias of a self-reporting assessment and the self-fulfilling prophecy I mentioned before. They're a fun novelty, but they're not something a clinical diagnosis should ever be solely based on. People lie to themselves all the time to get a result they find meets their opinion of themselves / their reality.

Understanding Personality is far more nuanced and detailed than the MBTI can deliver. All I'm saying.

--edit: Here's the INTJ vs INTP coming into play :p

Glad we agree!
See how I haven't posted any links to tests? I've found they can be helpful in the past but they don't work for some people.
The system can still work though! That's why I like just asking questions. When people spend enough time wrapping their minds around the functions, even the really upside-down-from-where-they-are ones, then it's easier to use it.

My uncle is an INTP and I tried to tell him so... But he acted completely phobic of being "put in a box". Then I noticed he was becoming very embarrassed and I was confused for a minute. It came back to me that Dr. Nardi included that odd detail about INTPs.
So there is a brain region (behind the left ear) that is active when someone is embarrassed. In INTPs that area is much less active than other types who often have a little bit of activity there. But it will just be dark in the INTPs.
Then suddenly, light up like New Year's fireworks, over very small things others often wouldn't mind or notice. Then it goes dark again.
So I believe I humiliated my uncle by trying to tell him about his personality type. IRL I'm more gentle than online, so I don't think it would have bothered other people the same way.

Anyway, that said, do you ever get intensely embarrassed about things other people don't seem to notice could be embarrassing?
