MDF cabinet incubator ?

Question for you chicken peeps, have you ever used MDF board for an incubator cabinet? How well does it hold up? Did you paint it on the outside? Did you line it with paneling? I'm so curious of how well this will hold up. Thanks for your knowledge.

I have not but I would think it may split with moisture. I’d seal it well to keep moisture out

What type of sealant so I can try this, seeing as how plywood will set you back a bunch now?

MDF will off gas. I don't know if this will affect chicks, but I wouldn't try it. I don't know if paint would seal it adequately or not.
