Actually my coop has a concrete floor, then four inches of pine shavings. 20ft by 30ft.

I find it fairly easy to clean!

Just pine shavings? Are you letting it compost on the spot in deep litter method or cleaning it out?

Just pine shavings? Are you letting it compost on the spot in deep litter method or cleaning it out?

I have not changed the shavings in 3 months, I just rake off the top layer each day to remove the chicken doodoo. I usually replace all of it every 4 months. (and clean every inch of the coop at the same time. All the removed material, gets composted for the gardens.

I see. I'm going to try to make the compost in the run part of the coop. Giddy-up.
