Mealworm Farm?

I am thinking about starting about a mealworm farm for my hens. They don't get very much protein in the wintertime, and it would be a cheap way to supply a healthy treat that is rather expensive to buy.

I searched up some videos and articles about mealworm farms and I'm wondering what is best to do. Some people have success without the hassle of separating out the stages in the life cycle, and just keeping the adults, larvae, and pupa all together. If anyone out there has a mealworm farm of their own, do you think that canalization between stages is a problem?

Should I go the easy way out and keep all of the stages together, or take the extra effort to sort? Thanks! :thumbsup

Let beetles lay eggs for a week then move to fresh container. Rinse and repeat. This will prevent most of the cannibalism problems
