I have chickens, bunnies and cavies, add that to the worm waste, ...picture a screaming Aussie (can't think of the guy's name right now from back when I used to have TV) "Act now and get NOT 1, not 2, not even 3 BUT 4 poos for the price of one!" As Seen on TV PooCubed enhanced with WormWaste.

Anyone else have issues with teeny little flies?
They are smaller than a fruit fly and tend to run and jump before flying. I had my colony in the garage, covered with a screen, yet they still got into the house. I put up fly paper in the garage and in 3 days it looked like a pipe cleaner!
I finally tossed the whole lot.

I tried reading all posts, but geez!

Nope, I don't have problems with teeny little flies.
We got the big house flies though. With 60+ Guinea Pigs in the house, a few cats and 3 incubators running (flies love those warm surfaces) plus a brooder for newly hatched chicks to stay in before they head down to the big brooders in the barn, I have enough waste in the house to attract bugs. Clean, clean, clean! That seems to be all I do! I need a maid!

Why, oh why, couldn't I have been born rich instead of so good looking????

Many times, those flies live and breed in sink and shower drains. They withstand quite a bit of chemicals. Try filling your sinks with hot water and pouring a half cup of bleach. Then open the drain. We had the same problem. I ended up taking apart the drains and giving them a thourough cleaning.

All summer I've allowed my colonies(2) to grow. No mealies for the girls. I am beginning my 3rd generation now. Bin 1 contains what is left over from generation 1 and new worms that grew in there. Bin 2 contains a gazillion dead beetles and new baby worms-gen 2. The dead beetles go to the girls tomorrow. Now I will start bin 3. That will be for new pupae and gen3. I hope to be organized to keep my farm at 3 bins and rotate them for new generations.
The worm frass will go to the compost, I love the idea of marketing the worm poop. With the push for sustainability and a living soil, I think that the time is NOW. Those of you already selling live worms can add another dimension to your business. We have a coop out here that sell compost worm castings. It would be great to team up with a group like that to promote your A$$ Frass!! Of course, Meally Mix would work as well. But you will all have to use the meally on the bowl with a crown. Adds a whole new dimension!!
Cheers all.
