Oh, yea....you definitely belong here! hahaaaa! Someone who 'thinks' like me! LOVE it!

No. They do well in a single container too. It just depends on how much work and how involved you want to be. For single, simple, check out Gallo's page!

Hi do I have to put them in differnt boxs

I have mine all in one big one

did I do it wrong???

mine are eatting alot right now
hope that means they will give me a gift soon :')

So I got my mealies today.... This will take some getting use to. They shipped in a cloth baggy stuff in newspapers. The sound of them in that newspaper was skin crawling. I put them in tub and shook them all out of the newspapers and put some carrots and potatoes in there with them. I hope as time goes on the creepiness factor goes away. I can watch them. They don't bother me that way. But touching them and hear them

. I know one day I'll be able to stick my hand in that bin and pull a handful out, one day, hopefully, maybe...

I think since they are the color of peanut butter you should dip half in chocolate and call them "Buckeye sticks"

Lolita......just give it some time. I was the same way but now I can put a worm on my hand and let it wiggle around. It tickles a bit. Try to remember these aren't dirty buggy worms from outside. They are clean being on foods that are clean enough for you to eat (oatmeal, veggies and fruits). I am just getting pupa this past week and
they are cool too. But I am still not sure about those beetles. They still seem like they are going to creep me out. I dont think I want to touch those when they emerge.

Kassaundra.......hey that sounds yummy too!! And if they still wiggle a bit on the plate can you imagine the reaction????

I added a new video to my website. It just shows how small the baby worms are and what you can look for in the substrate. I get so many emails from folks saying they do not have any babies but if you have beetles, you probably have babies. I put a photo above the video to show them, too. I know hannakat has a great photo of a beetle laying an egg so one can see how really tiny those eggs are.

Here is a photo of the tiny meal worm next to a ball point pen. You can even see how big the bran flakes look next to the baby. And this bin hasn't had beetles in more than 8 weeks so there is no telling how old this little one is. With the dry air and lower humidity in the house recently it may only be 2 weeks old but those eggs did hatch out and the bin is crawling in babies, as the video shows.

Lolita117 ~ Not to worry... fascination will take over quickly and you'll be an ol' pro!

Kassandra ~ Buckeye sticks....yep! That's the way!

Amy ~ Way to go! Your pics and videos are incredible. Keep 'em coming!
